Design plays a central role in our lives. It makes the things we use – and the places we spend our time – more effective and enjoyable. Design Exchange (DX for short) is at the heart of design in Canada. DX is housed in the former Toronto Stock Exchange building of 1937, a superb example of streamlined modern design. Conceived in 1985, two years after the TSE had moved and when the design community sought a new focus for design. After many years of hard work and determination the DX was officially opened in 1994 by Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
